Yes, Digg Version 4 is out and I happen to quite like it. But the 20 to 40 people who don’t like it, really want to let it be known to people. This involves spam messages… spamming reddit stories. Reddit by the way is Diggs rather smaller rival which all the digg users (the 20 to 40) who are spamming comments on the website have going to… this is again while they are busy on Digg commenting on how much they hate digg 4.

But tonight, I had a rape threat. And found it rather funny. So I must share it with the world.

Rape me! WHAT?!

But that aside, I am not the only person who likes digg version 4. But the reason why I like it is why other people hate it. I like how things are auto-submitted. I like how the new UI works and how you follow people in a twitteresque way. This is the future of how to pass news along.

Whilst yes, the algorithm for promotion is clearly broken and former power users now hate it because they can no longer dictate what is on the front page and they are a few features missing I think people are missing the point of the update. Firstly, they need to increase traffic. But they couldn’t with the old MySQL servers. So they have moved everything over to new servers. Of course things are going to be broken/not functioning properly when you move over! Secondly, the UI in this update is better. It is actually easier to navigate than the old site was and it is significantly easier for normal users to publish new links.

They are many more reasons why I think the update was much needed, but its 00:46 and I should get going to sleep rather than complaining how I am going to get raped in the future by someone called ‘RapeKevinRose’.
